Dumplings!

 

The last thing I want to share about Chinese new year is the dumpling.

However, the majority of my student is too young to make the real dumpling. But I still don’t want them to miss the fun thing. So we use the clay to make a fake dumpling. Just to let the student experience how to make dumplings.

And I plan my third grade can have the real dumpling class.Before the class, I sent the receipt to class teacher to let them check with parents if their kids allergic or not. So I can make the stuffing. Next day, students make and eat their own dumpling.Even though, we need to prepare a lot. I think it is worth. The student like it very much.

It is a memorable class!

 

 

Spring Festival Month

This month we focus on Spring Festival-Chinese new year.

这个月的课程主要集中在讲春节。

It is a very big culture item if I want to introduce.

如果要介绍春节有非常值得介绍的地方。但课程有限只能挑重点介绍。

So I use a chart to summarize the 15-days celebration. so will easy for them to memorize.

为了简单明了，我选择的一张表来包含所有的全部内容。让孩子能一下明白整个春节的脉络。也方便记忆。

Then I prepared 3 culture item to let students experience. The first one is easy for the first grade: coloring Fu characters. The second one is making the red envelope. The third one is making the dumpling.

当然动手做的事情，印象会极其深刻。所以文化体验主要选了三个项目：第一，涂福卡。（这个特别简单适合一年级的孩子们来完成）第二，是做红包。第三，是包饺子。当然对于一年级和二年级的孩子来说做一个真的饺子很有难度，但是为了让孩子体验这个过程，孩子们还是会开心的。

看，做出来的饺子还挺像的吧！

Steam Night!

School host Steam Night this Friday. All the parents are coming to school for some funny stuff. We prepared Chinese Calligraphy to let parents experience. They really enjoy it~

 

Happy Chinese new year!

Last Saturday is Chinese new year. We are invited to Knutson campus’s new year party.

上一个星期六是中国的新年。我们受到邀请去参加当地大学的新年庆祝活动。

Our principal Dr.Henry go with us. We enjoy a Chinese supper and watch the performance presented by the Chinese club.

我们学校的校长Dr.Henry也跟我们一起去参加。我们享受了一顿中餐之后去看了由学校中文社团的组织的一场表演。

It was a good time. we spend time together.We become family at that night.

这是一段非常好的时光。我们呆在一起。那个晚上感觉我们就是彼此的家人。

Of course, Erin and I make some decoration of school too.

当然，为了让学校也有一些节日的气氛。Erin和我也对学校做了一些装饰。

Cute Family Tree

It is already been three weeks after winter break. Everything came back to normal routine.

开学已经三个星期了。一切都回归到了正常的道路上。

My language lessons focus on family. How to say family member in Chinese.

最近我的语言课重点在家庭上。 让孩子们学会怎么用中文称呼家人。

Because it is related to student’s daily life. They show great enthusiastic when learning.

这与孩子们的生活息息相关。所以他们表现出极其大的兴趣。

However to enhance their memory. I decided to let them make family tree.

为了加强他们的记忆，我们觉得还是有必要做一下家庭树。让他们在做的过程中边记忆。

They did a really amazing job! I so proud of them. Be creative! I told them.

孩子们做的都特别特别的棒～我真为他们感到自豪。我告诉他们一定要有创造性！ 

 

Christmas trip1

My exciting trip finally coming~ I planned this around September. How time flies!

期待已久的圣诞假期终于来了～九月份已经开始计划到真正实施实在太飞快了！

I met my mom at LAX  airport. The moment I see my mom feel unreal. My mom is exciting, too. So we met our tour guide at the airport. Our 11-days trip start!

我跟麻麻成功的在洛杉矶的机场碰面。见到我妈的那一刻我觉得相当不真实。我麻麻相当的激动。然后我妈成功的与导游汇合。开始了我们长达11天的旅行。

Our schedule is LA→Las Vegas→LA→San Diego→ San Francisco→LA.

我们的行程是从洛杉矶到拉斯维加斯再回洛杉矶然后去墨西哥之城圣地亚哥再去旧金山最后又回到洛杉矶。是有一些些曲折的。

I have a memorable  time with my mom.~

这是一段相当难忘的旅行。

Universal Studio- Amazing place!!

去环球影城的那天正好是圣诞节，人山人海。吃饭玩上厕所都在排队中度过。

Then San Francisco! I like this place so much. So many my favorite movie was shoot here~

我很喜欢旧金山。在旧金山上我可以看到芝加哥的艺术，洛杉矶的繁华，西雅图的浪漫。以后有机会再来一次。带上爱人。

We have super yummy seafood at Crab  House. If you go there, you need to go there.

对于吃货一般的我，怎么不能提一下吃的呢。这家海鲜馆就坐落在著名的渔人码头，脱团的我们只为满足一下味蕾。果然不负众望，但是钱包好痛。

我喜欢一直在路上的感觉。虽然很累，但是回过头看确实很值得细细品味。

Middle school music concert

这周末，Evan（住家的孙子）的学校举行了他们的音乐会。我和住家一起去给他加油。

This weekend，Evan (grandson of my host family)’s school has their music program-Christmas concert.We went there to support him as family.

 

音乐会时为了即将到来的圣诞节。孩子们打扮的很隆重，音乐会共演奏了5首曲子。我最喜欢的还是最后一首，孩子们表演圣诞老人，非常有趣。

The concert is for Christmas. The student all dressed up. They play 5 songs.My favorite is the last song.The student play the role as Santa. Very interesting~

感恩节我被邀请到我的寄宿家庭的女儿房子。他们有一个大聚会。

我们在那天之前开始准备食物。我们做了两个turkey 那天。

好吃！

Crazy black friday shopping!

终于迎来了美国最着名的“黑色星期五”。为了以较低的价格买到自己喜欢的产品，早早的就开始收集各种打折的资料。我的住家奶奶拿来了当地所有商场的促销。然后记下下自己想要的产品和每个商场的开门时间。然后就开始了我们疯狂的24小时购物！

最后，着名的黑色星期五在拐角处！为了购买一些好东西，我尽早搜索所有可能的促销信息。我的寄宿家庭带一些本地商店的促销手册。我们将强调一些东西，写下每个商店的不同开放时间。然后我们疯狂的24小时购物开始！friday is around the corner! For buying some good stuff, I search all possible promotion info early. My host family bring some local store’s promotion brochure. We will underline some stuff and write down the different opening time of each store.Then our crazy 24 hours shopping begin!

P1是上午5点。人们在线购物。他们有促进，前500名购物者可以有一个自由娃娃作为礼物（p2）。a.m.. The people are get in line for shopping. They have the promotion that the  first 500 shopper can have a free doll as a gift(p2).

当天气温可是0摄氏度。让我一个来自最低气温也是零上的姑娘，体验了一把寒冬的感觉。

那天早上的温度是0摄氏度！
